News ‘University without Borders’: EHU launches resilience-building project

In Academic Year 2020/21, the European Humanities University (EHU) launches the project “University without Borders: Promoting Democratic Values and Dealing with Disinformation through Online Education” thanks to the support provided by the Government of the United States through the Emerging Donors Challenge Program and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, acting on behalf of the Government of Lithuania. The project will be run the EHU Department of Social Sciences.

News “If you want to care about your homeland you need to care about humans” — Cuban activist Guillermo Fariñas meets EHU students and staff

On December 10, Human Rights Day, the European Humanities University (EHU) hosted Guillermo Fariñas, Cuba’s leading human rights defender, independent journalist and political dissident, winner of the 2010 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought. Mr. Fariñas was accompanied by the signatory of the Act of the Re-Establishment of the State of Lithuania and former member of the European Parliament Dr. Laima Liucija Andrikienė and Omar Lopez, Human Right Director at the Cuban American National Foundation.

News “’Photography is more than…”: a conference and student exhibition at EHU

A conference entitled “Photography is more than…” will be held on 29 September 2025. The event aims to initiate a critical discussion about contemporary trends in photography and explore issues related to the transformation of the medium and its changing role in visual culture. It will also consider current approaches to teaching photography in an era of explosive growth in AI technologies.

News “World Politics and Economy” BA students conducted a study trip to Germany

From June 10 until June 21, 14 students of the joint European Humanities University (EHU) and Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) BA Study program ‘World Politics and Economy’ together with the Head of EHU Center for German Studies Professor Dr. Gert-Rüdiger Wegmarshaus and lecturer of EHU Department of Social Sciences Dr. Tatsiana Chulitskaya accomplished an academic study trip to Germany. The project was supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The goal of the study trip was twofold: to learn more about the system of German higher education and to deepen knowledge on German foreign policy with a special focus on the Belarusian – German relations. 

News 10 February, 2022 marks a new beginning in the governance of the European Humanities University

On February 10, EHU Trust Fund Donors’ Assembly presented new rules for the management of the Fund, discussed the next steps to be taken to ensure the long-term and smooth continuity of the EHU’s activities and funding, and talked over how to attract even more donors to the University’s Trust Fund. During the meeting,  the EHU Rector, Professor Sergei Ignatov, and his colleagues presented the EHU’s Annual Work Plan 2021-2022, which reflected ambitions of the EHU and the progress made in implementing it.

News 11th International Textile Biennial “Measure” curated by Prof. Žydrutė Ridulytė

On November 12, the 11th International Textile Biennial “Measure” was opened at the Arka gallery of the Vilnius Old Town. Biennial is organized since 1992 and serves as the only platform in the Baltic states that demonstrates the world’s latest trends in the sphere of textiles. Prof. Žydrutė Ridulytė of the European Humanities University Department of Humanities and Arts serves as a curator of the Biennial.

News 19th Annual International Student Conference convened at EHU

On 6-7 May European Humanities University (EHU) proudly welcomed the participants of the 19th International Student Conference “Europe 2017. From Printed Word to Knowledge: Local Traditions and Global Transition”. The Conference became a platform for students’ networking, presentation of their scientific achievements and academic experience exchange.

News 7 Alumnae and Professor – in the 2018 ICBS Awards Shortlist

Every year, the International Congress of Belarusian Studies (ICBS) presents awards for the best research and student papers. This time, 8 members of the European Humanities University community are featured in the shortlists of ICBS awards, among them – Prof. Tatiana Shchyttsova and seven Alumnae of undergraduate and graduate degree programs.
